1. Our Commitment to Privacy

At PauseHer, your privacy is our priority. The App is designed to work without accounts. We minimize the data we collect and process camera and pose data only on your device.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

PauseHer does not require account registration. We do not collect your email address, phone number, or real name for general use. You may optionally contact support by email; that is voluntary.

2.2 Face Data & Biometrics

Face ID: The App may use Face ID (or Touch ID) to secure access to the App or unlock sessions. Face ID is processed entirely by your device’s operating system. We do not collect, store, or have access to your biometric data.

Camera & pose (including face keypoints): Camera access is used only for pose detection to support the yoga unlock feature; we do not store any camera footage, images, or recordings. When you use the yoga unlock feature, the App uses your device camera and on-device pose detection (Apple Vision) to guide you through a pose. Body pose detection may include face keypoint positions (e.g. nose, eyes, ears) only for on-screen skeleton guidance and pose verification. We do not capture or store face images, and we do not use your camera for facial recognition or identity verification. All camera and pose processing happens in real time on your device. We do not upload camera frames, body pose data, or any face data to our servers, and we do not retain this data. Face and pose data is used solely in real-time to verify the yoga pose. It is never shared with third parties. It is discarded immediately after the unlock session ends.

2.3 Screen Time (Family Controls)

The App uses Apple Screen Time and the Family Controls framework to pause selected apps. We do not receive app names, usage content, or identifiable usage details from Apple—only what is needed to apply the pause and unlock features. Any app-related data we store (e.g. opaque tokens) is stored on your device only and is not sent to our servers. Data accessed through the Family Controls framework is used solely to restrict app access as configured by you. This data is not shared with third parties or used for advertising or marketing purposes.

2.4 Device Identifier & Usage Data

We use an anonymous device identifier (a UUID generated on first launch) stored on your device. It is sent to our servers only to link your progress and unlock sessions to your device (no account required). We do not use it to identify you personally. We may store minimal, device-based data (e.g. preferences, unlock counts) to provide the dashboard and settings, associated with this device identifier.

2.5 Onboarding & Preferences

Information you provide during onboarding (e.g. name, goals, preferences) is stored only on your device unless we clearly state otherwise. We do not sell this information.

2.6 Health & Medical Disclaimer

The App provides physical activities (yoga poses) for the purpose of unlocking digital content. The App is not a medical device, and the content provided is not intended as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Please consult a physician before beginning any new exercise routine.

3. Where We Store Your Information

  • On your device only: Preferences, subscription status, unlock state, selected apps (or opaque tokens), onboarding answers, and similar app state. Camera and pose data are not stored—they are processed in real time only.
  • On our servers: We may store an anonymous device identifier; unlock session information (e.g. time, duration, difficulty, unlock type); progress-type data (e.g. daily pauses); and, if you use referrals, referral codes and redemptions linked to the device identifier and bonus unlock counts. We do not store or receive camera, pose, or face data on our servers.
  • Processed by Apple (we do not store): Face ID, payment and purchase details, and Screen Time/usage data—we only use Apple’s APIs to provide the App’s features.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your data strictly to:

  • Provide the yoga unlock and app pause features.
  • Show your dashboard (e.g. “You paused X times today”).
  • Store your preferences and subscription status.
  • Operate the service and prevent abuse (e.g. misuse of referral or unlock features). We do not use this data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

5. Data Retention

  • Camera, pose, and face: Not stored; processed in real time only.
  • Data on our servers: We retain device identifier, session, progress, and referral-related data only as long as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion at any time (see Your Rights).
  • On your device: Until you delete the App or request deletion of your data.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising.

We use trusted service providers for:

  • Infrastructure: Database and backend (e.g. Supabase) to store the data described in “Where We Store Your Information.”
  • Subscriptions: Payment and subscription management (e.g. Apple). We do not receive or store your payment details—only subscription status to enable features.
  • Screen Time: Apple’s Family Controls; we do not receive usage content from Apple.

If you use the referral feature, we link your device identifier to referral codes and redemptions to grant bonus unlocks. We do not share identifiable information (e.g. name or email) between users—only that a redemption occurred for the purpose of granting bonuses. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard practices (e.g. HTTPS, access controls) to protect data in transit and on our servers. Camera and pose processing occur only on your device. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure; we do not guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You can:

  • Manage preferences and subscription from within the App.
  • Request deletion of your data: Email us at support@pauseher.app and we will process your request within a reasonable time (e.g. 7 days). Deletion may mean you lose progress or access to certain features.
  • Access your data: You can see your in-app data (dashboard, settings). For a copy of data we hold about your device, contact us at the email above.
  • Revoke Camera or Notifications in your device Settings at any time.

9. Children

PauseHer is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App. We do not sell personal information, including that of users under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy and change the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
